What's next? Coming soon...

The first problem solved was providing a quick and easy way to load a waxworm on your hook without having to take your gloves off.  Side benefits were a clean and efficient way to store and transport waxworms with-out getting sawdust all over, reduced time to rebait hook and get back down while the panfish are schooling, not having to touch the bait while loading your hook, and a small durable package that can easily fit in your pocket.  Simply preload the waxy wizard before venturing out on the ice or water.

The next problem to solve was a faster and easier way to load the waxy wizard with-out having to touch the waxworms. Some preliminary prototypes were developed on weekends during the summer, and a patent app was submitted. The Waxy Sifter was one of the outputs from this investigation. It provides a quick, easy, and portable way to sift out the larger sized waxworms from the sawdust/food/bedding media waxworms are typically stored in. I can stop by the local bait store on my way to the lake and purchase some fresh waxworms, and then quickly filter out the waxworms and load my Waxy Wizard(s) while in my warmed up vehicle before heading out on the ice.   It also works with spikes or iron worms.  I find it best to keep the spikes cool and quickly dump them from the filter screen before they have a chance to crawl through.  If they do crawl through the filter screen it is no big deal...just shake back the other way so they fall back to the top side of the filter screen and filter them out again.  I find that keeping the spikes cool or chilled reduces their level of activity and keeps them short, plump, and much easier to handle.

So, about that speed loader....yes, we have a few functioning prototypes that are ready to be shared with a few select individuals.  Will start out 3d printing these and then tool up as these get out there and the volume justifies the tooling.

BTW...a fun story from when I was testing the speed loader on the kitchen counter, but will save that for another time as there are too many words here already.  Stay tuned!
